Jennifer Batty is the Chief Content Officer of HOOQ, Southeast Asia’s leading OTT service. She leads HOOQ’s local, regional and Hollywood content acquisition, programming, viewership and engagement strategies and drives original productions across their diverse markets.

Prior to HOOQ, she was Executive Vice President at RTL CBS Asia, where she made significant contributions in RTL Group’s expansion into India and its joint venture with CBS Studios International, launching RTL CBS Entertainment and RTL CBS Extreme.

Jennifer has a career that spans two decades across North America, Asia and Europe. She holds an MBA from the University of New South Wales.

Alena Lai is the Head of APAC Media Strategy & Partner Solutions on the Media Partnerships team. The Media Partnerships team manages strategic relationships with key media partners across Entertainment, News and Sports verticals. Alena and her team focus on creating business and partner impact through data and product expertise.

Prior to Facebook, Alena has been in diverse industries and roles, including management consulting at Boston Consulting Group, industry development at Singapore Economic Development Board, talent management at DBS Bank etc.

Alena graduated from Stanford University with a Masters of Science in Management Science and Engineering, and from Cornell University with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Ivan is an ambitious and talented sports management expert with a Masters in Sports Management from The Johan Cruyff Institute, and is a double degree holder of Business Administration and Sports Management from Ramón Llull, a prestigious university in Spain. He has over 15 years of experience in the Sports Industry, with the past 9 years being in Asia. He has succeeded in different roles in FC Barcelona, Sport SG, and agencies like Dentsu and Red Card, and is currently heading the regional office for SEA, Aus, Japan; S.Korea. His extensive experience also included helping global brands such as Toyota, Panasonic and General Motors navigate the intricacies of sports marketing.

Mark Parkman

General Manager

As General Manager of the Olympic Channel, Mark Parkman is responsible for overseeing the content creation, technical delivery and digital platform development, as well as integrating partnerships with Olympic Rights Holding Broadcasters, sponsors, International Sports Federations (IFs), National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and organizing committees of the Olympic Games (OCOGs).­­  In its first year of operation, the Olympic Channel was named the Best Sport Thematic Channel by the TV Sports Awards.

Following its launch in 2016, the Olympic Channel has amassed nearly nine million followers on social media and has generated more than 2.5 billion video views across its platforms from the 19,500 pieces of video that have been created.  Original productions include more than 65 series from companies representing 25 different countries, with many of the content winning awards, including the prestigious Webby and Telly Awards. Parkman also created the critically acclaimed documentary series Five Rings Films and selected legendary Hollywood producer Frank Marshall and Mandalay Sports Media to co-produce the films. Agreements have been reached with 91 international sports federations, which have resulted in the Olympic Channel live streaming more than 3500 events. A traditional television version of the Olympic Channel made its debut in 35 million homes in cable systems across the USA on July 2017 in partnership with NBC and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.  In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), beIN HD 10 Olympic Channel was created in November 2017 and is distributed across 23 countries.  The Olympic Channel extended its distribution to connected TV devices in late-2018 and early-2019 with the launch on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Roku.  Continuing in 2020, Olympic Channel will launch a television channel and a localized website and apps in China in partnership with CCTV.

Anil Nihalani is Head, Connected Media at Mediacorp, a Singapore media company, where he is responsible for meWATCH, the company’s over-the-top video service.

Prior to joining Mediacorp, Anil spent fourteen years at the StarHub Group, where he held various leadership positions. He led the Commercial group at Nucleus Connect where he was responsible for strategic planning, product development, and sales and marketing. Before that, Anil was Vice President of Mobile Services, responsible for the strategic planning, development and management of StarHub’s portfolio of mobile products and services. He was instrumental in the planning and introduction of several new technologies including StarHub’s 3G and HSPA networks.

Anil has 25 years of experience in the media and infocommunications industries, and spent the early years of his career at British Telecom (Singapore) and Singapore’s former telecom regulatory agency, Telecom Authority of Singapore.

Lee Choong Khay or better known as CK, is the Vice President of Sports Business for Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, a leading content and consumer group in Asean. CK joined Astro in 1997 and has nearly 20 years of experience in the broadcast industry. He was instrumental in developing Astro SuperSport, which has become one of the top sports channels in Malaysia and the region, as well as launching the first 24-hour sports channel in Malaysia, Astro Arena, whose comprehensive coverage has raised the profile of many Malaysian sports and athletes.

Over the years, Astro has brought prime sport franchises like the FIFA World Cup, UEFA EURO, Premier League, Olympics, F1, Thomas Cup, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games to Malaysian sports fans. Following the latest trend of eSports, Astro launched a dedicated eSports channel, eGG Network on Astro TV, AOTG and Tribe in June 2016.

Christian Hardy

Vice President, International

As a member of the PGA TOUR team since 2014, Christian helps develop all aspects of the PGA TOUR’s international footprint.  He focuses on creating and implementing a long-term international strategy and building stronger relationships globally to support PGA TOUR objectives. This has included the establishment, hiring and management of leadership teams for PGA TOUR offices in Beijing, London and Tokyo.

Christian works across multiple teams to grow the PGA TOUR’s international media footprint, event sponsorship, international tours, audience development and portfolio of marketing partners. A primary focus is to build PGA TOUR’s overall businesses in strategic markets in Asia, Europe and the Middle East as well in emerging markets such as India and Southeast Asia.

 

Prior to joining the PGA TOUR, Christian worked in Global Sponsorship and Business Development for Manchester United Football Club.  Christian graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Political Science.  He earned his Masters in Business Administration after attending ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain and The Haas School of Business at the University of California-Berkeley. Christian resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida with his wife and 3 daughters.

Mark has held commercial and leadership roles at a global sports agency, broadcast media and government positions. While his business acumen put him on the road to success, his fervent support for Liverpool FC and the Singapore national football team ensured his found joy in his various roles.

At MP & Silva, Mark as Head of Media Sales (APAC) was involved in distributing major international sports content and leading key projects such as the broadcast of the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore, DBS Regatta, and launching StarHub’s live sports news show SuperSports 360. He also led MP & Silva’s partnerships with
the Football Association of Singapore and Badminton Asia Confederation, and was a key member of the team which launched the beIN SPORTS channels in Indonesia.

Mark also held the position of Senior Manager in Sport Singapore’s Sports Broadcast Development Division and was Head of Broadcast for the 1st Asian Youth Games Singapore 2009.

At StarHub, Mark covered a variety of cross-functional roles such as sports content programming, scheduling, content acquisition, marketing, promotion and production. He led the Euro 2008 Pay-Per-View campaign and launched the Football Channel on StarHub’s Sports Pack with the key acquisition of the English Premier League.

Mark’s mantra that has served him well throughout his career – Once you have made a decision, follow it through and don’t look back.
